Real Estate Law

Landlord / Tenant or Real Estate Law

A lease or a rental agreement defines the length of the rental term, the price paid, penalties for late payments, and the amount of notice required before either the landlord or the tenant can cancel the lease. The landlord law invokes the duty to maintain the property in a reasonably safe condition. Massachusetts state landlord tenant law sets the requirements for evicting a tenant - which may occur for only a limited number of reasons before the tenancy expires.

Commercial real estate law deals with property such as land and commercial buildings. It also includes income generating property such as offices, factories, retails stores, restaurants, and industrial parks. Although commercial real estate investments can be very profitable, there can be risks involved, such as non-payment of rent.

Attorney Lloyd has successfully represented both landlords and tenants in both residential and commercial tenancy matters.
